Geraniums represent peace and tranquillity and are thought to bring a sense of calm.  They also symbolise joy, protection, frustrations passing away and true friendship.

I discovered this Gernanium on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne in a peaceful walled garden designed by Gertrude Jekyll,  British horticulturist, garden designer, craftswoman, photographer, writer and artist.  She believed passionately in the understanding of beauty in the natural landscape and strived to create it in her work.
